The top memory will be soldered. there hus t is not enough room to fit slotted memory. If you have it apart, post some pictures of the motherboard (both sides) with your question. WWe can then point out the memory IC's

Besides increasing your RAM I would replace the HDD with an SSD [guide|25248] You'll be amazed by how quick the "beast" will load :-)
