Use a strong light and a magnifying glass and check that the USB charge port enclosure is free from any lint etc that may be preventing a good electrical connection.
Also ensure that the pins are all there and that they're straight a parallel with each other and not bent etc.
If there is any debris in the port enclosure, ''do not'' use a metal pin or probe to remove it as you may damage the pins. Try removing it by using a vacuum cleaner instead.
If the port seems OK then perhaps it is a loose USB connection on the charge board in the phone. The phone would have to be opened and the port further checked.
