The service centre that LG recommended to fix my ice maker problem, commented that it's just not LG ice makers, but all makes of refrigerators with in-door ice makers have problems.
The ice-maker has been replaced once, and still only releases the ice when we press the reset button.
It should be releasing ice into the container every time it senses that the until isn't full, thus being able to always have ice available all times.
We live in the tropics, and specifically bought this refrigerator to have access to ice at all times.
We paid a very high price for this refrigerator and one month after the two year warranty ended, what a surprise!, it fails.
Reading all the comments here, which are very informative, I would be very disappointed if we had to replace things such as compressor, etc. this early.
