Why does my ps4 slim play DVDs but not blu ray/games?

I haven't booted up my ps4 in a month, and when I booted it up just yesterday it states unrecognized disc when I play games. So I tried using DVD movies and it worked. For some reason it reads dvds but not blu rays. How do I fix this?
