Extended wand will not click back in

Hi,

I used the extended wand on the hoover and now it will not click back in - meaning i cannot use the hoover as normal.

I have checked for anything blocking the socket (where it clicks into) and nothing in the way.

Is this a common problem or any other advise on how to fix?
