I have done it on my own iPhone SE2 after the rear glass broke. I found it easier to pay $20 for an entire iPhone 8 chassis than to fool around with picking off the glass shards. The swap works wonderfully, though the procedure requires stripping every part and keeping track of the screws. I also have some doubts about the quality of mobile reception (battery goes down pretty quickly), but that might be unrelated.
I do not understand why people answer these questions with "I don't think" or "Mostly". Either you know or you do not. I have done it, so I know it is possible.
