Are you sure that you have to remove it?

Looking at this [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H3AK9C0TWTw|video] for a different Sony model the LCD cable passes through an opening at one side of the hinge. Perhaps your model is the same.  View from about 7:40 minutes into the video
