Just from what I know about displays in general the manufacturer will need to make a panel with the same connector type between the two displays to make them interchangeable which is quite uncommon as 4K panels need more power and if you were to put the incorrect power into a display it could cause some serious damage ,however maybe if you ask the manufacturer of the display if they are interchangeable you might get a different answer

I recommend putting your 4K display back together (unless there’s a issue that wasn’t mentioned) and enjoying the quality of it as if you are going back down to 1080p most of the time that’s a downgrade unless you are wanting better performance in games
