Edward Reinert since this is a new factory remote we can rule it out (hopefully) and I am sure it is not a user error. New battery and all I assume. The only thing then is the IR sensor on your TV. Make sure it is not obstructed and make sure that the plastic cover in front of it is clean. If all that checks out it is possible that you will need a new IR board. We would need to know your exact model number and you will have to remove the back cover tec. for that. Of course, check to see if it is still under warranty etc. If so let them fix it to their cost, not yours.
