Display sometimes turns black when I perform an action

Today I discovered an issue with my laptop. My display sometimes randomly turns black for a second and sometimes the laptop goes straight into standby mode. This seems only happening when I’m using the keyboard or mouse. I let it on for like 3 hours while doing something else and everything looked fine. But as soon as I opened Google and tried to look something up it turned black again.
I already tried to install the by Acer recommend drivers as well as the newest ones but nothing changed.
I even got as far as resetting my laptop and installing everything from scratch but it also didn’t help.
Do you have any ideas besides malfunction hardware?
