Hi,
Some things to check first:
Check that the charger is working OK e.g. try another compatible charger or plug the charging cable into a working computer's USB port and see if the phone begins to charge.
Check that the charger cable is OK
Use a magnifying glass to visually inspect the USB-C port for any damage.
-Check if the USB-C port is loose by inserting the charger cable only into the phone, (do not connect the other end of the cable to anything) and then firmly grab hold of the phone and ''gently, stress gently'' grab the cable plug that is inserted into the charge port and try to move it up and down and side to side to see if you can feel any movement at all in the charge port.
