Mattresses with springs, have the springs "sewn" to compress them somewhat.[br]
You would need to open the mattress up and check if one or more of the bindings are torn or ripped.

If your mattress has a zipper opening, then it should be fairly simple, but if it's sewn together and all it'll be quite a bit more tricky with splitting, fixing and restitching.
