battery not detected PPT001

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I have bought an iFixit replacement battery, installed it, 3 days after delivery. The battery symbol is crossed out. I have reset the SMC and PRAM there is no change.

The battery is connected, as clearly the computer is not totally dead with no power adapter. It is able to show "battery not charged" symbol when I try to turn in on without the power adapter. When I disconnect the power adapter after the computer has booted into the OS, the screen goes dark immediately, but after I reconnect the power cord it seems to have successfully hibernated.[br]

The diagnostics tells PPT001.

And I actually have solved the problem, decided to share the experience, as this may help others. The reasons for all above was that battery connector was not fully pushed into the socket. Some of the pins of the socket are "shorted" and they likely have not been connected. So while "power" part of the battery was there, the "control signals" likely were not all making through. [br]
[br]
When viewed from the side there should be no gap between the socket and the battery connector.
