There's a small board attached to the anode/cathode of the battery. For a DIY repair, you'll need to transfer this board from the original to the new using a spot welder. Then a programmer to reset the charge cycle of the battery. Totally unrealistic/not cost effective for a one off at home, you would need a really good, reputable repair shop to carry this out.
