MacBook Pro 15" Airport card replacement

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I have a [[Topic:MacBook Pro 15" Unibody 2.53 GHz Mid 2009#Section_Parts_and_Tools|Macbook Pro 15" Unibody 2.53 GHz Mid 2009|new_window=true]] (one fan only) rather than a standard [[Topic:MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009|Macbook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009|new_window=true]] (with two fans) and the wifi has stopped working - assume the Airport card has died. There is no guide to fix a [[Topic:MacBook Pro 15" Unibody 2.53 GHz Mid 2009#Section_Parts_and_Tools|Macbook Pro 15" Unibody 2.53 GHz Mid 2009|new_window=true]].

I believe the card is located in the centre-back under the black clutch cover. I can probably find a guide to disassemble it eg the one for [[Topic:MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009|Macbook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009|new_window=true]] to access the card and yes it may have some sort of model or identifier on the card once I get it out to be able to order one. But prefer not to disassemble it all before having the replacement part to swap out immediately.

I assume that [[Topic:MacBook Pro 15" Unibody 2.53 GHz Mid 2009#Section_Parts_and_Tools|Macbook Pro 15" Unibody 2.53 GHz Mid 2009|new_window=true]] uses the same card as the [[Topic:MacBook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009|Macbook Pro 15" Unibody Mid 2009|new_window=true]] but does anyone know for sure or have experience with a [[Topic:MacBook Pro 15" Unibody 2.53 GHz Mid 2009#Section_Parts_and_Tools|Macbook Pro 15" Unibody 2.53 GHz Mid 2009|new_window=true]] even including Airport card replacement and type?
