Have you looked in the Control Panel under Device Manager to see if it has a yellow exclamatuion mark?

Sometimes corrupted drivers need to be completely uninstalled including settings. I usually use a freeware registry cleaner such as Ccleaner or Advanced System Care but use what you like.  Reboot and then let Windows discover the driver. If that doesn’t help then it maybe a hardware problem
