# Double-Click on “Disk Utility”
# Click View>Show all volumes
# If the external Hard Drive/SSD isn't formatted as MacOS Extended Journaled (also known as HFS or HFS+), format it now.
# In the partition of your external Hard Drive/SSD, click “Restore”. When it asks you where to restore from, choose the partition “Macintosh HD”, then click “Restore”
