@davidoc the last thing you want to do is to stick anything in that port. If you have to pick something out of it (pocket lint etc.) use no more than a toothpick. stay away from anything like metal. Usually all you need is a few drops of high grade (90%+) isopropyl alcohol and a few puffs of air (like air in can) those electronic dusters. No real tools needed for a cleaning.
