DS4 with flashing yellow light & Faulty R2, is this the cause?

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

-I purchased a “good” used motherboard on ebay to replace the faulty one on my dualshock 4 (jdm-030) but found a capacitor missing (see pictures). The controller flashes yellow (not orange) when I plug it in to charge and the R2 trigger doesn’t respond unless you press the rubber conductive pad very hard. I purchased new conductive button membranes but the issue remains. Is the missing capacitor the reason my ds4 is partially working? Thanks in advance.

-What’s up guys hope all is well. My ds4 (JDM-030), had a serious no power issue on the motherboard so I decided to purchase a “good” used one on ebay for a fair price. After installing it and plugging it in to charge, it began to flash yellow and not orange like ds4’s normally do however it did charge just fine. Issue #2 is that the R2 trigger doesn’t respond at all unless you press the rubber conductive pad very hard. Thinking the blue conductive button membrane was to blame I purchased new ones on ebay as well but that didn’t solve the issue either. Before giving up, I decided to give the motherboard one last look-over and found that some solder mask was scraped off near some capacitors. Assuring this wasn’t causing the yellow light and faulty R2 issue, I compared it to my fried motherboard & found that a small rectangular capacitor was missing on the scraped areas. Is this missing capacitor the reason my ds4 is partially faulty altogether? I’ve attached a picture showing which capacitor I’m talking about. Thanks in advance guys.
