You need to run some Calcium Lime and Rust remover through it or one that is designed for coffee pots(I just use CLR and run a lot of cycles to make sure it is all gone) or soak in vinegar and run it through a dozen times or so. Shutting it off part way through to allow it to eat the clog helps.
