Lenovo T470 fan connector stuck in motherboard socket

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I have tried to remove the 5 pin fan plug from my laptop motherboard but it only wiggles. I have tried my fingernails, tweezers, and pliers but it has mostly resulted in the sides of the plug getting damaged. In addition, the tweezers and pliers often slip off the plug, resulting in some of the wires getting disconnected from the head. Is it possible that the plug has been glued in? I have had the laptop serviced before by Lenovo.
[br]
I was opening up the laptop to clean up water damage. I don’t see any evidence of water damage around the port but is it still possible that might be what is causing it to get stuck?

I notice when I try to get it out with pliers the plastic seems to be pulling away from the metal component which seem stuck fast.
Is there anything I can do besides desoldering the fan from the cpu?
=== Update (11/08/2021) ===
Got it out by ripping apart the plastic head and pulling the JST pins individually.
