Quite a few people don’t realise that the battery is the problem. My Kindle Paperwhite was stuck on the sleeping screen so I continued pressing the restart button for 30 minutes. Nothing happened. When I let me finger rest for a few minutes, the screen suddenly changed and they gave me a warning that the battery was dead. That was why my Kindle didn’t start up or restart.
