Yeah Brandon K, tell your parents to hang onto that receipt for that Samsung they are the biggest pieces of trash that’s ever been created TVs first refrigerators tied for second biggest losers in Samsung products trash absolute garbage! Vizio M Series was/is actually a very good TV. Despite having the same problem described above with the round purple/opaque circle No picture and it looks like they described a pebble or a rock came up and shattered it you can see light coming through it and when I rub my finger up against it actually looks like it’s cracked but nothing happened to it. I live alone and I’m 63 nothing happened to the TV. My guess is some component inside basically exploded or fried and caused the damage to the screen. But for the money I can’t complain $450 for this 50 inch TV I have it’s a great picture I’ve had about about Four years. Not a bad run for the price so I can’t complain and I use my TV a lot! So it sucks but the worst part is that there was like no warning it just literally didn’t work anymore I tried all the repowering and all the other test options they give you described and came to the realization when I found this post that this is a common problem with the TVs when that component goes…You’re done! And for the price of a comparable TV it’s not worth it to repair I can already say I know that for a fact without calling anybody and I really after three for five years without an extended warranty would not expect the company to do anything. Stuff breaks unless you’re buying top of the line I mean top-of-the-line Sony’s for four times the price then you would have a legitimate complaint. I’ll buy another Visio, I’ll buy it from Costco with my Costco credit card so I’ll get a double the warranty and then I’ll also get the extended warranty so if anything happens I’ll be double covered.
