10 hp tecumsen Engine will not run on own gas

10 Tecumsen 1 cylinder on a Generator.  Has sat for 10 + years.

Replaced fuel,  fuel lines and filter.  Cleaned out float valve base.  Have new gas at float valve.

Fires and starts if I spray gas in carburetor but wi not run on its own.

What am I missing?
