New USB-C board only recognizes power, does not acknowledge devices

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

2018 MacBook Air with Big Sur.

Some devise (power cord or USB adapter) scorched the original USB-C board.

I installed a new USB-C board from iFixit. The installation appeared to be successful. The power cord is recognized and charges the laptop.

However, devices do not seem to connect. A USB mouse (by way of adapter) does not connect. HDMI monitor (by way of adapter) does not connect. The adapter light comes on, but no signal goes to monitor. I’ve tried multiple devices and multiple adapters, but none of the devises are recognizes.

Any suggestions about what may be wrong? Why is power good but no signal?
