Battery gas meter unreliable after battery replacement

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I replaced the battery of iPhone 2020SE with aftermarket battery from ifixit.com. Now, the “gas gauge” that shows % battery charge does not function correctly. It will stay at 100% or 84% or some other %, and not go down as the phone is used. Then the phone will die - unexpectedly, since no warning from the battery charge % meter.

Also, I have an error message that will not go away: “Important Battery Message - Unable to verify iPhone has a genuine Apple battery. Health information not available for this battery.

Sometimes, if the phone is turned off and back on,, or full reset, the meter will adjust and display a reasonable value.

Is there something I did wrong in the battery replacement that could cause this? Does the non-Apple replacement battery cause this? Is there a fix?
