From my experience there isn’t often much that can be done. You can try to pop off the keycaps and clean underneath them but you risk snapping the plastic mechanism and it may not solve the issue. Best bet is to replace the keyboard, for laptops of this age they typically aren’t too expensive and can be found pretty readily on sites like eBay and sometimes Amazon.
