Still no info to figure out this issue yet. A datasheet for that backlight driver IC LP8561 would help some, but this seems to be a closely guarded secret.

How is that thing working? It must be told to turn on the backlight if that 4th diag LED is turned on, but it doesn’t so something isn’t right.
