Weird waves on the screen after removal/reassembly

I recently had an ipad pro 12.9 2018 model in for a bad/damaged power port. I removed the screen assembly using a screen separator machine(which is more or less a fancy heating pad) and went ahead and replaced the port. Upon reassembly however, I'm getting these [link|https://i.imgur.com/ONCt772.jpg|++weird waves++] on the screen. It is most apparent on white backgrounds.
I’ve never seen this before - any of you ever dealt with this?
