Not charging or turning on after repair.

Hi, I think I have a similar problem, I've just replaced my LCD screen and digitizer as my old screen had a major incident that cracked the screen. After my first attempt to replace it, the phone would not turn on, this was an issue with the back not fitting on because some things were not quite fitted back together properly. After a second attempt to fix it, the back went back on okay and everything seems fine. However, my phone switches itself off the second I remove it from the charger. It only seems to switch on and function while it is plugged in at the mains, yet won't even work when connected through USB to iTunes. I don't know if this is now a battery issue or if there is something wrong with one of the connections inside. Also my phone has literally just made a noise at me to suggest it's turned itself off as I'm writing this (around 5 minutes after previously switching it on). Despite having left it on charge all night, it only gained 3% of battery which is why I'm inclined to believe that it may now be a battery issue. Please help!
