Pamela Adams you could most likely solder new contacts/springs in its place. Post some images so we can see how bad the damage is and where to attach the new ones. [guide|21499]
=== Update (07/03/2021) ===
You could get some wire and solder it onto the spring part. You could even bring some wire from the out side through the case. Of course I would suggest that you replace the spring contacts with something [link|https://www.ebay.com/itm/333761646258?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAAAkHnbWazZE9Otivby%2FPoD1HGUdJMGG76VMoxiAn4Bq%2FR0gQYTLS%2FFwJh%2Bz0gQF5DHya38F%2BC8C5bA2lL83WogzZRkHejOvOzj4x9cwK%2Bw4qxQbdyI2Hd%2Fx9jQdUDXq%2F4dTk%2FXqP2I2kRQ4iJ3U0AyB0UP61118xnfshBUlRHwAmsEnDAT27YjohlRxEiTcltkJg%3D%3D&chn=ps&norover=1&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-117182-37290-0&mkcid=2&itemid=333761646258&targetid=1262376588856&device=c&mktype=pla&googleloc=9028006&poi=&campaignid=12873834640&mkgroupid=120270032814&rlsatarget=aud-622027676548:pla-1262376588856&abcId=9300536&merchantid=6296724&gclid=CjwKCAjwlYCHBhAQEiwA4K21m3wShIyj-TiSDRjI8me3boIl7g0i30YyktBHaSxcTJu-bqPfXjIuVBoCbO8QAvD_BwE|like this]
-Of course just like '''++@gkjarhead++''' mentioned cleaning it with a baking soda solution to resolve some of the rust etc. is always a good idea.
+Instead of cleaning it with baking soda use a diluted lemon juice solution to resolve some of the rust and debris from the alkali of the batteries. Once cleaned use a lightly oily rag to wipe down the lemon juice and lubricate the contacts.
Not a real bad repair and not to expensive
