I had the same problem on my Nikon P900. The camera shop could not help ..said they needed to send it to Nikon for a $35 shipping charge and then wait to hear what the damage was. I was able to wiggle out the battery ..but the spare batteries are also swollen so not sure if the camera works or is damaged
