it is not soldered

it has legs to snap into place

no one sells just the sd card holder, just the motherboard,i looked

but did i overlook one

here is take apart video

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xq3c90Amlz8

the sucker is glued in places and epoxy applied at lens

once removed front cover is distorted due to heat making some part malleable

because the lens area with epoxy is removed by pulling leaving a rugged rock hard

all terrain surface

it cannot be removed

the rest is screws with torque screwdriver

follow take apart video and pay attention to removing the battery holder

now you will see motherboard and sd card holder to remove mother board and you’ll see

use philips 0 screwdriver to remove mother board

check underside of motherboard for sd card colder mounts

1.you will need to purchase a new front cover that will fit, but not flush due to epoxy residue,

camera is no longer waterproof

when taking apart some screws just spin.had to cut off with dremel and once the board has been removed, pulled the screw fragment out with needle nose plyers

now you don’t have enough screws

but say you bought the overpriced motherboard

the screws are self tapping and others a nuisance

easier to take out

the material the screws are composed of is just sligthly wobbly magnetic

cannot be fully magnetized, say from a discard microwave magnet or buy online

resulting in screw holding lightly to screwdriver, apply even the tiniest pressure the screw falls off.

# now you know you should of never attempted to do a self repair

# you can sell off parts

# or you should of sold off camera as is saying sd not going in straight and have some other diy take it off you hands
# take the hit and but another camera with your parts proceeds or the diy guys money
