I had this exact problem with my screen black after powering on. Simple fix, these t.v.’s are older…digital signals weren’t fully implemented when they were made. There is a firmware update which will solve this problem I’m almost certain. Go to the Sony website and type in your model number and follow the instructions, you’ll need a USB key to download the firmware to and just plug it into your tv and in 10 minutes you should be good!
