Washer grinds at spin cycle and won't spin or drain.

My kenmore 110 series washer completed it's wash cycle and then when it went to spin dry it started making a loud grinding noise and would not spin or drain. I removed the clothes to see if it would spin and drain with only water in it and it would not. Is this the clutch or bearings or something else?
