Pixelbook won't power on after replacing USB port

After following the instructions in the [guide|103394|Google Pixelbook Right Charging Port Replacement] guide, my PixelBook won’t power on.

* Pressing the (side) power button has no effect
* Holding down the refresh button while pushing the power button has no effect
* Plugging in the AC adapter does not cause the LED to light (either side)

Might I have missed something? Does an item need to be enabled or reset?
