-According to the [https://uniden.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/DECT_1735_OM.pdf|user manual] (see p.20) the answering system ring time can be set for either 6, 9 or 12 rings before answering.

-You may also have to check however what the ring time is from the phone service provider that the phone service is connected to, as it may vary according to which provider the service is connected to. For example with Telstra landline services the ringing time can be altered from 5 seconds to 60 seconds in 5 second intervals by dialing an appropriate code number from the phone.

-If you extend the ringing time to 12 rings on the phone this only equates to approximately 36 seconds worth of ringing time (most ring cycles are ~3 seconds in duration) and if the provider’s ringing time was less it won’t ring for the time that the answer machine is set for before answering.
