Washer stops agitating after a couple minutes.

crwdns2934249:0crwdne2934249:0:

I have an old as dirt washer and it's worked like a champ for 12 years for me (it was used when I bought it so it's even OLDER)

Anyway, I'm having an issue where the cycle starts, fills with water, agitates then a couple minutes if agitating it stops. I can hear the timer clicking but no motor sounds. If I pull the start and press it again it starts agitating again. Sometimes for 1-4 minutes then stops and I have to pull the start and press again to get the agitator to start. Any ideas on what it could be?

It drains and spins just fine, the only issue is that I have to stand there and constantly pull the start on of off to get it to agitate.
