I detached the two brown ribbons and then nothing worked at all! Had to re-attach them. Haven’t tried it to see if that fixed the volmin problem or not, but I will.

My solution is that I just ordered a JBL 5.1 Soundbar as I think these older Samsung home theatre systems have  blu-ray players that die in the dust!
