There are 3 probable causes:

# the mirror got knocked out of alignment. you can confirm this by enabling live view. if live view works as expected then the mirror and its mechanism are fine.
# the mirror got wedged against its rubber stop (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nKCtczszWOQ)
# the shutter curtains got damaged.
