After replacing the screen on my iPhone 5, it won't turn on.

I turned my iPhone off completely before carrying out the replacing of its cracked screen and then when I tried turning the phone on again, it’s as if there’s no life in it. Having next reconnected my phone to the mains in order to give the battery a boost, but still my iPhone is as if it’s dead. Can anyone help, please?
