An update of what? A driver? Just roll it back with Device Manager, if a driver. It worked before the drive update so that is the most probable cause. That should fix it.
It is unlikely, but not impossible, that it is the cable, especially if it worked before.
I guess you have checked that the Samsung was set to the correct input?

Still not working? Corruption is no big problem so you can think about it. First just unistall the Graphics driver reboot and then let Windows rediscover it. If you really think there is still a prfoblem then use Display Driver Uninstaller or DDU:

which completely removes all traces of the driver. Re-install.
