My NextBook 6 wont charge or work

Hi> My NextBook 6 started not wanting to hold a charge more and more now it wont turn on at all. I saw a video of them taking the battery out then press the power button for 20 seconds. Can I take the back off my NdextBook 6 safely. Any ideas? Thank you in advance :)
