Should MBP 2014 CPU throttle without battery?

Hi there, I got MBP 2014 which has not genuine Apple battery installed. And with plugged it in it gives SMC error in Diagnostic and it is slow (CPU throttle) When disconnect battery it is the same “slow” - but should it be “fast”? Just want to know if battery is the problem as no liquid damage at all. When run FaceTime it says “to wait as temperature too high” but all sensors in MacFanControl shows around 40C only. - - Display is from MBP 2015 - but would that be a problem? Thank You :)
