Alcatel t1 10 takes over 6 hours to charge

Just wondering if anyone can tell me if its normal for a new tablet bought 2 days ago to take over 6 hours to charge?

I have gone back to where I bought it and they told this is normal but I've had cheaper tablets before that dont take this long to charge.
