Hi,
I accidentally got my macbook pro too hot. on turning it on after it cooled down it was running really slow and on checking the activity monitor it was running kernel_task which apparently kicks in when it’s running too hot to slow things down.
The laptop had been sitting for a long time after the heat incident so it was no longer hot ( I made sure of this). But it was still running slow and kernel_task wouldn’t stop running. Thinking the software ws having trouble normalising things I tried re-instaling mac OS to reset things, this took a long time to do so I left it do it’s thing. When I came back the screen was black and It wont turn on.
I have tried a number of key combinations recommended online to try an turn it on and no response. the only thing that lights up is the charger cable which changes to red on plugging it in.
Please help , feel terrible as this is my partners laptop
