I went ahead and took my phone apart and got it done. Motherboard does need to come out. It was rather simple. Battery can stay in. Power and Volume bracket will need a little push to get out.
Button was not pressing when i installed it at first, but after a little bit I was able to get it in. If one of the buttons don't press you will have to put everything together and the middle frame will help apply pressure to the button and it will be pressable.
Also a reminder to be super careful with the screen!! I removed mine without any cracks at all, but after putting the screen back on to test the buttons my whole right screen was white and super bright but the touch screen still worked. So in the end, my repair ended up needing a new screen because of a mess up somewhere.
Let me know if you have anymore question!!
