I have a laserjet 4000. Something fell on the open Tray 1 cover and broke it off. I’ve looked at the 4100 guides and there are enough differences I can’t relate. A small piece broke off (I think part of a hinge) but I can’t match up the part, I also found a small piece shaped like a plastic washer. I was able to run a piece of paper through OK, but the next page grabbed on one side and I couldn’t keep it straight.

I checked with our IT person and he wasn’t able to do anything. I looked at the parts I had and at the video again. Was able to reinsert the black piece which was not broken, wiggled a few pieces and am able to print with a little care. It’s old, but I have a cartridge with ink for 5000 pieces I’m reluctant to lose. I can’t close the tray, but that’s OK. I haven’t been able to reattach some arms, but I have a friend (who has been on vacation) who will be returning soon that has an identical printer I can check. It’s a little slower, but it works.
