What is the grey cable at the battery for?

Hi,

I replaced the battery of my Charge 2 and broke the '''middle PIN''' at the motherboard which is '''connected to the grey/ white cable of the battery.'''

Can someone tell me what for is this PIN?

Is it a protection for overloading?

I checked the loading for about 10min and it seemed to work (went 3 to 4 indicators)

And any suggestions to fix it? It’s too difficult with an soldering iron..
