-Thank you.  So, I have tried different cables.  I have tried the procedure twice.  There is no activity from the phone when I plug it in and turn on the power button.  There is no sound or vibration.  I plugged it into the computer via cable, and the computer didn’t see that it was there.  At the moment it appears to be dead.  I purchased the ifixit tools which were specifically for this procedure.  I used the spudger to remove the battery.  It was difficult because the old battery was swollen (although it was working).  I haven’t seen any obvious damage to the cables.  If I could get my hands on a more specific diagram and naming of the parts, it would help (I haven't found one yet).  I am willing to get more parts to try and fixit, but I’m not sure where to begin.
